Ab Initio Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced Ab Initio Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level ETL pipelines and data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the Ab Initio tool suite, strong SQL skills, and experience working in complex data environments handling large volumes of data. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test ETL graphs and applications using Ab Initio 4.x
• Develop and maintain enterprise-scale ETL solutions using the Ab Initio suite including:
  • GDE
  • Co>Operating System
  • Express>IT
  • Data Quality Environment (DQE)
  • Continuous Flows
  • Amazon S3 utilities
• Perform lifecycle analysis, design, implementation, and code migration
• Design ETL frameworks for audit and data reconciliation supporting batch and real-time interfaces
• Develop automated ETL jobs and optimize performance for large-scale data processing
• Automate data loading processes from multiple source systems into BI/MI platforms
• Work with relational databases including DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for high-performance data processing
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions
• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and data governance standards
• Present technical concepts to stakeholders at various levels

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (Advanced degree may substitute for some experience)
• 10+ years of software development experience with strong Ab Initio expertise
• Strong experience designing enterprise-complexity ETL solutions
• Experience with Linux/Unix scripting for automation
• Strong SQL and relational database integration experience
• Experience with data warehousing concepts (star and snowflake schemas)
• Understanding of software quality practices (unit testing, TDD, performance tuning, CI/CD)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• Must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD five days per week
