AWS Engineer 

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: 6–12+ Months Contract

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AWS Engineer with strong DevOps and cloud infrastructure expertise for a long-term contract opportunity in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, and CI/CD automation. Previous experience working with American Express (Amex) is required.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, automating, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps solutions in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Work with AWS services including Lambda, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, VPC, and related technologies.
• Automate deployment processes and operational workflows.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability.
• Implement security best practices and maintain compliance standards within AWS environments.
• Support production deployments, releases, and infrastructure maintenance activities.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform.
• Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architecture.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and automation.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting cloud applications.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Bash.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working at American Express (Amex).
• AWS Certifications are a plus.
• Experience working in enterprise-level cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
