Ryan Companies is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer to support technology deployments at construction and data center project sites.
The resource will be responsible for setting up network and technology infrastructure within temporary jobsite offices and trailers, supporting collaboration and AV technology, and coordinating with subcontractors and onsite teams.
The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate directly with customer stakeholders, troubleshoot issues in the field, and take ownership of onsite deployments. A more senior candidate who can provide strong onsite technical leadership is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure
- Install and configure basic network environments within portable jobsite trailers and temporary offices.
- Deploy and configure network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Build and organize network racks.
- Support structured and low-voltage cabling installations.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Test and validate equipment and connectivity to ensure the environment is operational.
Collaboration & AV
- Set up and configure meeting room technologies, including Logitech conference room solutions and OWL conferencing devices.
- Install, mount, and configure TVs, displays, mounting brackets, and related equipment.
- Support Microsoft Teams Rooms and similar collaboration technology.
- Test meeting room functionality and ensure environments are ready for end users.
Field Coordination & Leadership
- Serve as the onsite technical resource for deployments.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Communicate directly with stakeholders and onsite teams.
- Coordinate third-party contractors performing cabling, mounting, and other installation activities.
- Provide onsite technical direction and help resolve deployment issues.
- Ensure work is completed according to customer requirements and project timelines.
- Communicate project status, issues, and dependencies to the appropriate teams.

- Experience with Logitech, OWL, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or similar collaboration technologies.
- Experience with new-site or greenfield technology deployments.
- Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA are a plus.
Top 3 Skills
- Hands-on Network Deployment Switches, firewalls, wireless access points, racks, connectivity troubleshooting, and basic network setup.
- Independent Field Leadership Ability to own onsite deployments, communicate with customers, coordinate contractors, and solve problems independently.
- Low-Voltage/Physical Infrastructure Structured cabling, LVC, rack builds, mounting, and sufficient physical infrastructure knowledge to oversee subcontractors.
Recruiting Profile
This is a hands-on Field Engineer position, not a primarily remote network administration or network architecture role.
Candidates should have experience supporting site deployments, new construction, data centers, temporary offices, branch openings, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, or similar environments where they were physically responsible for getting technology up and running.
Formal people management is not required. Candidates who have served as an onsite lead or point person, directed subcontractors, communicated with customers, and taken ownership of successful deployments are strong fits.
AV/meeting room experience is secondary. Logitech, OWL, and Teams Rooms experience is a plus, but strong field networking, infrastructure, and independent ownership should take priority.
Additional Information
- Urgent requirement with a target start in October.
- Stronger candidates with demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to independently own onsite deployments may be considered at a higher rate.
- This is a large project with an anticipated need for 4 5 similar consultants over the next year.
