Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Architect in Carson City, NV.
Overview:
The client is seeking a highly experienced Staff Architect to support major industrial and facilities-related capital projects, with a primary focus on a large-scale campus development in McCarran, Nevada. This role will play a critical part in delivering infrastructure and facility projects that support advanced manufacturing, lithium battery refining, and recycling operations.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience developing construction drawing packages, navigating permitting challenges, and leading projects through ambiguity while maintaining project momentum. This individual will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and help establish architectural direction for complex industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead architectural efforts for industrial and manufacturing facility projects from concept through construction
* Develop and coordinate complete construction drawing packages suitable for permitting and execution
* Navigate complex permitting processes and jurisdictional requirements, including challenging occupancy classifications, story-count determinations, and code interpretations
* Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to define architectural requirements in environments where information may be incomplete or rapidly evolving
* Review, coordinate, and integrate architectural designs with MEP systems, process equipment, and industrial infrastructure
* Work closely with architectural designers and engineers to ensure quality, constructability, and code compliance
* Support project planning, design reviews, permitting submissions, and regulatory approvals
* Provide technical leadership for facility expansion, renovation, and infrastructure projects across multiple sites
* Manage architectural documentation, drawing standards, and project deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related discipline preferred
* 10+ years of architectural experience supporting complex commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, data center, automotive, or similar technically driven facilities
* Experience producing drawing sets for permitting and construction
* Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory approvals
* Demonstrated experience working through ambiguous project requirements and evolving design criteria
* Ability to coordinate architectural scope with engineering disciplines, equipment layouts, and facility infrastructure systems
* Experience leading projects from design through permitting and construction support
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit-based workflows
Project Portfolio:
The successful candidate will support multiple industrial facilities, including:
* McCarran, NV (approximately 75% of project workload)
* Carson City, NV (approximately 20%)
* South Carolina facility (approximately 5%)
Projects Support:
* Lithium battery refining facilities
* Battery recycling operations
* Industrial manufacturing infrastructure
* Facility expansion and modernization initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting industrial or manufacturing facilities
* Experience with battery manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, automotive, data center, or other complex process-driven facilities
* Experience leading architectural teams and mentoring junior staff
* Strong understanding of industrial building permitting and occupancy classifications
* Experience working within fast-paced environments where project scope and priorities evolve frequently.
* Revit proficiency and experience coordinating production teams within the Autodesk ecosystem
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
