Job Description
You will be the Sustainment Engineer for the Logistics & Sustainment Engineering (LSE) depot repair team. Our team keeps the Fixed Wing Sniper/LANTIRN program flying by delivering fast, high quality repair, rework, and test of electro optic line replaceable units (LRUs), circuit card assemblies (CCAs), and complete targeting systems for USAF, FMS, and DCS customers.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Sustainment Engineer you will be the hands on technical lead that bridges engineering, depot operations, test capability, and logistics. You'll troubleshoot and repair complex electro optic hardware, perform precision component level solder rework, and run system level tests to ensure every repaired item meets contractual and configuration requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform advanced CCA rework: fine pitch surface mount and BGA removal/replacement, conformal coat stripping/applying, and component level troubleshooting under magnification.
Diagnose, repair, and rework LRUs, CCAs, and mechanical/harness issues; fabricate custom cable assemblies as needed.
Execute system and LRU level testing using automated and manual test equipment; conduct Delta ATPs, retrofits, and full system checkouts.
Create and update Depot Repair Forms (DRFs) from engineering drawings, process plans, and depot procedures.
Maintain Asset Management System (AMS) status, workflow, removals/installs, and promise dates.
Generate detailed repair instructions, perform failure analysis, and document root cause corrective actions.
Serve as the liaison for depot test capability and engineering change requests; support validation plans and transition test equipment from production to sustainment.
Analyze Notice of Requirements (NORs) and configuration impacts; ensure compliance with USAF, FMS, and DCS contractual milestones and KPIs.
Provide clear status reports and forecasts to senior management and program points of contact.
Develop Bills of Estimate (BOEs) and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost models for sustainment and new business initiatives.
Coordinate repair activities between Orlando and Warner Robins depot teams.
Travel domestically and internationally to support troubleshooting, retrofits, and customer training when required.
