As a
Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I, you'll be hands-on with the infrastructure that keeps global technology running-while gaining exposure to leadership, operations management, and high-impact engineering projects. This role is ideal for early-career engineers, technicians, or military veterans ready to take the next step.
What You'll Do
- Support daily operations of a large-scale data center facility
- Operate, monitor, and respond to both routine and emergency conditions across critical systems, including:
- Switchgear, generators, and UPS systems
- Power distribution equipment
- Chillers, cooling towers, and CRAC/CRAH units
- Building Monitoring Systems (BMS)
- Coordinate and oversee on-site technicians, contractors, and vendors
- Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and operational standards
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability
- Partner with IT and operations teams on capacity planning and infrastructure projects
- Assist with facility efficiency initiatives and new build or expansion efforts
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and asset/inventory tracking
- Deliver high-quality service while meeting operational and customer demands
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or Technical degree (Trade School or Military) with relevant experience
- 0-2 years of experience in engineering, facilities, operations, or a related field
- 0-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience (formal or informal)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications- 1-2 years of data center engineering or critical facilities experience
- Experience supporting or managing data center or mission-critical environments
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Foundational knowledge of:
- Network design and layout
- Low-voltage cabling (copper and fiber)
