Salesforce Development Engineer

Location: Dallas, Texas (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Development Engineer to design, build, and launch scalable business systems that automate complex sales and contracting workflows. This engineer will develop solutions on the Salesforce platform supporting request intake, approvals, document generation, specialist review, and routing automation. The ideal candidate brings strong computer science fundamentals, distributed-system experience, and the ability to translate ambiguous product requirements into maintainable technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and launch scalable software solutions for complex business workflows on the Salesforce platform.
• Contribute to distributed-system architecture, design, and implementation.
• Build and maintain custom applications, data queries (SOQL), event-driven logic (Apex triggers), and workflow automation.
• Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements and define build-ready solutions.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs related to scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and launch activities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and improve existing systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals, including system design, design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
• Hands-on development experience with an enterprise CRM or low-code application platform, specifically with production code experience in Apex, SOQL, and Salesforce triggers.
• Experience designing, implementing, or enhancing distributed software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with Product Managers to clarify ambiguous requirements and move projects forward.
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming experience with Java or another object-oriented language.
• Experience with cloud-based services.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Experience building scalable online services or front-end infrastructure.
• Experience serving as a technical lead or mentoring junior software engineers.
• Ability to use data and metrics to support technical decisions and business recommendations.

Work Environment

• This is an on-site position.
• The role follows standard core business hours, with flexibility based on project needs.
• Occasional additional hours may be required, but overtime, weekend, and holiday work are not typically expected.
• No regular travel is expected for this role.
