We are seeking a hands-on Software QA Test Engineer for a temporary contract opportunity in Seal Beach, CA. This role will support the testing and validation of software operating in a complex, hardware-integrated environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with both manual and automated software testing and is comfortable setting up test environments, executing test plans, troubleshooting failures, reproducing defects, and working closely with software and hardware engineering teams.

Experience testing software that interfaces with hardware, firmware, embedded systems, or physical devices is particularly valuable.

Job Details

Responsibilities

Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
Set up and maintain software test environments
Develop and execute test cases based on product requirements
Test and validate software/hardware integration
Reproduce, troubleshoot, and clearly document defects
Verify bug fixes and support release/build validation
Work closely with software, firmware, and hardware engineers
Support automated testing and continuous test improvements

Qualifications

3+ years of software QA, test engineering, or SDET experience
Strong manual testing and troubleshooting experience
Experience with test environment setup and defect tracking
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bugzilla, or similar tools
Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred

Test automation experience with Selenium, JavaScript, Python, or similar
Hardware/software integration or firmware testing
HIL, embedded systems, or simulation testing experience
Windows and Linux environments
Experience testing software that interacts with physical devices or equipment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
