Summary

Description

The IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational oversight of the IT Department. This role manages the IT Team, coordinates projects, maintains vendor relationships, and drives continuous improvement in IT services and security posture. The IT Manager works closely with the management team to align technology initiatives with business objectives. This role is a balance of management responsibilities with direct technical contribution.

  1. Manages daily IT operations, ensuring system availability, network reliability, and timely incident resolution. Coordinates team workload to meet service level expectations. Monitors infrastructure performance and recommends improvements.
  2. Manages IT projects from planning through delivery, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations. Assists with project planning and execution in coordination with the Director of IT. Oversees Change Management activities to ensure changes are documented, tested, and communicated.
  3. Provides oversight of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive. Ensures proper management of Intune device management, and hybrid identity infrastructure. Evaluates and recommends cloud service improvements and cost optimizations.
  4. Supports the maintenance of security certifications and adherence to NIST standards. Oversees endpoint protection and ensures security policies are current and enforced. Coordinates incident response efforts, conducts root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions.
  5. Manages daily priorities and workload distribution among IT team members. Serves as a technical escalation point and mentor. Identifies training and certification opportunities to advance team capabilities.
  6. Manages relationships with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers. Evaluates vendor performance, negotiates contracts, and ensures service level agreements are met. Coordinates with vendors for software licensing, supports escalations, and product evaluations.
  7. Oversees backup operations and business continuity procedures. Ensures business continuity plans are documented, tested, and updated. Coordinates with the IT team and the management team for compliance purposes.
  8. Provides oversight of network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. Ensures network security, performance, and reliability standards are maintained.
  9. Maintains and improves IT documentation including system configurations, procedures, and knowledge base articles. Drives process improvement initiatives and ensures the IT Team's SLA metrics are tracked and reported.
  10. Tracks software licensing renewals and hardware refresh cycles. Provides recommendations on technology investments and cost optimization.
  11. Manages and adjusts work hours as necessary, including special projects and emergency availability, to meet the ongoing responsibilities of this position.
  12. Stays current with evolving technology and pursues relevant training and certifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a team lead or supervisory capacity
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience planning and executing IT projects
  • Experience in Cloud/Hybrid environments including Azure and SaaS platforms
  • Familiarity with information security principles and best practices (e.g. NIST CSF)
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise endpoint protection and best practices
  • Clear and concise communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) with the ability to deliver complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management practices
  • Proven ability to manage and develop technical teams while maintaining a hands-on contribution to IT operations
  • Must be available to support special projects or respond to critical incidents which may occur outside of regular business hours

EOE - Salary will be based on relevant experience, $140,000-$165,000.
