Responsibilities
· Design complex full-stack cloud technology solutions in collaboration with application development teams, aligned with the vision established by technology and product leaders.
· Take ownership of existing technology solutions, designing and recommending improvements to increase efficiency, resiliency, and reduce manual effort
· Develop and lead the peer review process for Infrastructure as Code (IaC). IaC tools include Terraform, PowerShell, bash and Python.
· Lead the implementation of additional tools and processes that maintain an automation-first approach to infrastructure and middleware management.
· Collaborate with teams to understand their current infrastructure state and assist them in achieving the next step forward.
· Help create roadmaps to sunset, replace, and decommission legacy implementations as new capabilities are introduced.

· Applying Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices in planning and organizing work
· Monitoring platform/application using tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, CloudWatch is preferred.
VENDOR CALL NOTES: ALSO SEE INTERVIEW FEEDBACK BELOW:
· All candidates must be prepared to come on site for an interview - no getting around that. They will fly them in
· Funded at this rate until end of year. Will be trying to target similar bill rate if this were to be extended
· Expertise in Kubernetes - EKS in AWS expertise
o Support multiple business clients where multiple applications are hosted
· Heavy use of GitLab - workloads in commercial cloud and Gov cloud - and manage commercial cloud with Gitlab workloads
· Terraform is a critical need since all IaC is in terraform
· Python script is good to have
· Component - this person will work with AppDev teams- so customer is engineers - so might need to get on app dev teams troubleshooting calls
· Commercial AWS support until end of year, and then more on the Gov cloud - migrating most of workload to the Gov Cloud. Nothing is really on prem/no on prem app support
· Definitely a plus if they have an appdev background
· Most infrastructure is automated - so improving some of the existing stuff
· What is the day to day like?
o First/primary will be managing the EKS shared cluster - on call responsibility so it''s up and running 24/7
§ Critical to keep and eye on things that could cause issues - shared service platform
o Self service pipeline - people can go and request something and that is where the IaC piece comes in handy - might need additional features, etc
§ S3 buckets on AWS - app team doesn''t need to go to this team to get S3 buckets - there is a self service function where they can fill out a template and it creates everything for them. Similarly to Lambdas. If there is a function that doesn''t work, or needs something outside, then this team escalates/gets more involved
· Team size is about 10-11; will be working with corporate services teams - so 2 engineers, an architect, solution engineer -
· Industry experience isn''t important
· Interview: At least 3 rounds - will do tech interviews virtually prior to bringing them into the interview
· Why open?
Backfill/critical need to support these platforms
