This role acts as the connective tissue between business data stewards, analytics users, and data engineering teams ensuring data is discoverable, trusted, well-defined, and governed at the point of use.
You will operationalize data governance by embedding it directly into daily workflows across analytics, BI, and data engineering not by writing static policies, but by enabling metadata, lineage, ownership, quality context, and stewardship inside Atlan.
Key Responsibilities
Atlan Platform Enablement & Configuration

Validate and curate end-to-end lineage across ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers
Partner with data engineering to resolve lineage gaps and improve metadata completeness
Support column-level context for sensitive, regulated, or business-critical data
Stewardship & Adoption Enablement
Serve as a primary point of contact for business data stewards and analytics users
Lead enablement sessions, office hours, and workshops to drive adoption of Atlan
Translate business concepts into governed data assets and standardized definitions
Support stewardship operating rhythms (reviews, certifications, issue triage)
Data Quality & Governance Context
Attach data quality context, known issues, and remediation status to governed assets
Partner with data quality teams to surface rules, monitors, and scorecards in Atlan
Enable issue logging, tracking, and stewardship escalation workflows
Integration & Automation
Use Atlan APIs & lightweight scripting to automate metadata enrichment and workflow actions
Integrate Atlan with downstream systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, BI tools, SSO/RBAC)
Support governance-by-design patterns embedded into analytics and engineering workflows
Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience in data governance, data enablement, analytics enablement, or data operations
Hands-on experience configuring or administering Atlan (or similar platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica)
Strong understanding of modern data stacks (cloud data warehouses/lakehouses, BI tools)
Practical experience with business glossaries, metadata, lineage, and stewardship models
Ability to work directly with both business and technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or Looker
Familiarity with data quality, privacy, or regulatory concepts (PII, PHI, NPI, HIPAA, GLBA, etc.)
Exposure to APIs, SQL, Python, or metadata automation
Experience supporting enterprise data governance frameworks (CDMC, DMBOK, internal standards)
What Success Looks Like
Atlan is actively used by analytics, engineering, and business teams not just populated
Business terms are standardized, owned, and trusted
Lineage is visible and accurate for priority data products and reports
Data issues are surfaced and resolved through governed workflows
Governance is embedded into daily work, not treated as a separate compliance exercise
Why This Role Matters
This role is critical to turning data governance from a theoretical program into a practical, value-driven capability. You will directly improve analytics trust, reduce confusion and rework, and enable scalable self-service data access while ensuring governance happens naturally where people already work.
