Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dependable IT Hardware Technician to support a large-scale Windows 11 upgrade initiative. This role will work closely with the IT team to prepare, deploy, and support computer hardware throughout the refresh project. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically skilled, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced enterprise environment with imaging experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience supporting enterprise-level IT infrastructure while developing hardware deployment and desktop support expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unbox, assess, and inventory computer equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Evaluate existing hardware for Windows 11 compatibility.
  • Configure, upgrade, and prepare devices for deployment.
  • Assist with imaging, software installation, and Windows 11 deployment activities.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, testing, and quality assurance checks.
  • Troubleshoot hardware-related issues and coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of hardware assets and configurations.
  • Coordinate device preparation schedules and deployment priorities with IT team members.
  • Provide end-user support for hardware-related questions during the migration process.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Assist with workstation setups, equipment moves, and deployment logistics.
  • Lift and transport computers, monitors, and related equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds periodically).

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting computer hardware in a professional environment.
  • Strong understanding of PC hardware components, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Experience with desktop imaging, deployment, or device configuration preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-service-oriented approach with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale hardware refresh or operating system migration projects.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT support processes and asset management practices.
  • Previous desktop support, help desk, or hardware deployment experience.
  • Experience documenting technical procedures and maintaining inventory records.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
