Core Responsibilities
- Develop & optimize batch and streaming pipelines (Spark + Scala)
- Process large datasets using Spark SQL, DataFrames, Datasets
- Build real-time streaming solutions (Structured Streaming)
- Integrate with Snowflake & AWS S3
- Perform Spark performance tuning
- Write clean, testable Scala code
- Handle monitoring, debugging, and data quality issues
- Lead technical discussions & mentor juniors
Key Skills Required
Scala
- Strong in functional programming & core concepts
- Experience building production-grade applications
Apache Spark
- Expertise in DataFrames, SQL, Structured Streaming
- Knowledge of Spark internals & performance tuning
- Experience with Parquet, Avro, ORC, Delta Lake
Snowflake
- Schema design, streams, tasks, stages
- Basic knowledge of Snowpark
AWS
- Familiar with S3, EMR/Glue, IAM, VPC
- Monitoring via CloudWatch
General
- Strong SQL & Git
- Knowledge of Docker & CI/CD practices
