Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong technical aptitude and a proven ability to execute efficiently in fast-paced environments. This individual will support the design and development of both 3D and 2D mechanical components and assemblies, including analysis efforts for flight-critical avionics hardware.
This role requires hands-on involvement across the design lifecycle, from early prototyping through production, along with the ability to design and develop custom test fixtures to support validation and qualification activities. The ideal candidate brings a solid mechanical engineering foundation and thrives in both design and analysis work.
Core Responsibilities- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies
- Support design efforts for avionics systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability
- Design and build custom test fixtures for validation, testing, and characterization of hardware
- Perform engineering analysis including tolerance stack-ups, structural considerations, and basic thermal evaluations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive design improvements
- Contribute to both prototype builds and production-ready designs
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field
- Proficiency with MCAD tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
- Experience designing mechanical assemblies, particularly for electronics or embedded systems
- Familiarity with prototype and production tooling processes
- Experience with Python for engineering analysis, automation, or data processing
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis for structural or thermal applications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage priorities and work within project timelines
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE ENOVIA (PLM)
- Experience with CATIA for modeling and drafting
- Experience with thermal simulation tools such as ANSYS IcePak or Siemens Star-CCM+
- Experience performing structural load or mechanical stack-up analyses
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA or Confluence

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
