Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Developer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data warehouse and analytics platforms to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and decision-making needs. The position requires deep expertise in database design, data modeling, data engineering, and modern OLAP systems.
Responsibilities: - Design and implement robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting data from internal and external sources; ensure strong data validation, quality checks, and observability
- Design and evolve data warehouse architectures and OLAP data platforms, supporting internal analytics use cases as well as client-facing and third-party reporting solutions
- Lead and contribute to database design, dimensional and analytical data modeling, and data mart development to support high performance analytics
- Architect, develop, and optimize OLAP workloads, including query performance, indexing, partitioning, and data distribution strategies
- Perform monitoring, tuning, and performance analysis across distributed database and analytics systems
- Design, extend, and maintain data marts, metadata frameworks, and semantic layers
- Ensure all data warehouse and data platform code is maintained using version control and CI/CD best practices
- Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure effective use of analytics platforms
- Work with cross functional development teams to manage dependencies, define test strategies, debug issues, and maintain high data quality standards
- Ensure software stability and reliability through comprehensive documentation, code reviews, automated testing, and operational best practices
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in an analytical or technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in technology/software development and delivery, with a strong focus on databases, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
- 10+ years of hands on experience in database design, data modeling, and data engineering within large scale data warehouse or analytics environments
- Strong OLAP expertise, including hands on experience with modern analytical databases such as SingleStore, ClickHouse, or similar distributed OLAP platforms
- Deep understanding of data warehouse architecture, analytical data modeling (star/snowflake), and performance optimization techniques
- Expert level SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries on large, high volume datasets
- Strong experience using Python for data pipelines, automation, data processing, and backend services
- Solid experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks (e.g., Informatica or equivalent modern solutions)
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team player to deliver high impact results under demanding timelines
Desired skills: - Prior experience in the Financial Services industry or other highly regulated, data intensive domains
- Experience with MCP (Managed Control Plane / MCP based) services
- Experience with cloud native data platforms and managed database services
- Prior experience with scheduling tools such as Autosys
- Experience across the full DW/BI development lifecycle in at least one mission critical environment
- Familiarity with SDLC tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, Ansible, Jenkins
- Hands on experience with BI and analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or equivalent platforms
- Experience in real time or near real time analytics systems
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
