Systems Administrator (Hybrid)
Our client, an economic engine for the Portland Region, is looking for a Systems Administrator for their Portland, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the hybrid IT infrastructure. This role administers aspects of multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and on-premises systems to ensure optimal system performance, reliability, and security through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementation of best practices. Serves as a key operational resource to maintain system stability while identifying and executing improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities for Systems Administrator:
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft platform
- Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and hybrid environments
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure services (DHCP, DNS, NTP)
- Knowledge of scripting and source code control methodologies
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
- Server virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS)
- Configuration management and policy enforcement tools (Active Directory Group Policy Management, SCCM, Azure Intune)
- Understanding of storage systems and backup solutions
- Familiarity with authentication systems, encryption, and security monitoring tools
- Awareness of common security threats and mitigation strategies
- Understanding of patch management processes and vulnerability assessment
- Understanding of ITIL framework and IT service management principles
- Knowledge of change management, incident management, and problem management processes
- Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems
- Experience working with managed service providers and understanding of SLA management
Requirements for Systems Administrator:
- 5 years of experience in administration of cloud and hybrid infrastructure server environments.
- Perform procedural administration (operate) on Microsoft M365 Platform, Windows Server, and other infrastructure
- Monitoring and respond to system and infrastructure incidents and ServiceNow work queues in partnership with MSP
- QA MSP activities.
- Perform Windows desktop configuration management and software distribution.
- Monitor escalated service requests and incidents and ensure network health
- Document/develop (create, update, cull) operating procedures, runbooks, and maintainable drawings
- Apply established models, standards and practices to integrate solutions or perform operations
- Provide team bench depth and act as L2 escalated break-fix and troubleshooting path
- Initiative taker for documentation and management/monitoring tools ensure documentation is current and complete and data sets (i.e. inventories, etc.) are up-to-date.
- Experienced in the use of MS Office Suite for documentation and analysis (Word, Excel, Visio)
- Take direction and conscientious worker
