This role is part of a 16-person IT support team that serves over 5,000 users nationwide across 25 offices and hundreds of job sites. While the primary focus is providing hands-on end user support at the local level, the position also provides helpdesk support to all 5000 users.
OverviewWe're looking for a customer-focused, early-career Desktop Support / Help Desk professional to be the
only onsite IT presence for a 150-200-user office, including several executives. This role is ideal for someone with solid foundational support skills who enjoys helping users, resolving day-to-day issues, and keeping an office running smoothly.
This position supports a Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 cloud environment and works primarily on software and user-related issues rather than hardware repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the sole onsite IT support contact for the local office, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Provide daily support for Windows 10 & Windows 11, Microsoft 365 applications, and standard Lenovo laptops.
- Handle ticket intake and updates in Zendesk; ensure timely resolution or escalation.
- Support a mix of users: 70% onsite and 30% remote.
- Provide basic mobile device support (iOS/Android) and conference room technology assistance.
- Coordinate with the external hardware vendor responsible for imaging and laptop deployment-minimal hardware troubleshooting required.
- Document issues clearly and ensure none fall through the cracks.
Typical Issues You'll Handle- Setting up new user accounts and onboarding basic access.
- Troubleshooting application errors and system crashes.
- Mapping network printers and resolving printing issues.
- Assisting with password resets and account lockouts.
- Addressing Lenovo/HP laptop performance issues (basic diagnostics).
- Helping users with virtual desktop (VDI) connectivity or performance problems.
- Supporting common Microsoft 365 and browser-based workflows.
Requirements- 2+ years of desktop support or help desk experience in an office environment of similar size.
- Strong customer service mindset and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and basic troubleshooting steps.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (Zendesk experience a plus).
- Comfortable working independently as the only onsite IT resource.
- Basic understanding of mobile device and conference room support.
- Good follow-through and a habit of documenting and escalating as needed.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
