Summary

Job Summary:
An Engineer Drafter creates detailed technical drawings, BOM, quality documentation, and schematics for turnkey engineered pump packages using computer-aided design (CAD) software. They collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, customers, and suppliers to ensure accuracy and compliance with both internal processes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop original design, detailed technical drawings and schematics based on customer P&ID and specifications.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD to create P&ID, 2D drawings, and 3D models.
  • Create internal fabrication drawings with proper instructions to build equipment packages.
  • Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes from customer submittal document comments or internal design reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, and project managers to meet customer design requirements.
  • Interpret rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions to produce precise technical drawings suitable for fabrication.
  • Maintain documentation and version control for all drafted plans.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.
  • Work with engineering team to prioritize project deadlines.
  • Assist in estimating material costs and project timelines when necessary.
  • Provide design support for shop personnel throughout the build process.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in rotating equipment design or piping layout.
  • Experience with FEA analysis.
  • Certification in drafting or CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
