Summary

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Engineer to join a growing healthcare technology team and lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.

 

This role will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for driving architecture strategy, hands-on engineering, data governance, and platform scalability across a modern healthcare data ecosystem.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with business stakeholders, clinicians, analysts, data scientists, and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Lead enterprise-wide data modernization initiatives and platform transformation efforts.
  • Mentor engineers and establish technical standards, best practices, and governance processes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Overall 12-14 years of experience in IT industry with 6-7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
  • Atleast 2+ years in a Senior, Lead, Principal engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, dbt, Python, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
  • Experience designing and managing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, preferably in Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, OneLake, and Lakehouse architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed data processing and cloud-native engineering principles.
  • Experience building modular and extensible data engineering frameworks.
  • Experience working in HIPAA-regulated environments and handling PHI securely.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience with EHR, claims, HL7/FHIR, Epic, Caboodle, or Clarity data models.
  • Experience with Epic integrations, Cogito Cloud, and incremental healthcare data pipelines.
  • Exposure to advanced analytics, machine learning, or enterprise data governance initiatives.
