Summary

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled PNT / NAVWAR Analyst to support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) in developing future force designs for Position, Navigation, and Timing capabilities. This is a high-impact analytical leadership role at the intersection of space systems, national security, and long-range investment planning. The selected candidate will lead analysis that shapes how the United States postures its PNT architecture more than a decade into the future, directly informing investment decisions across space-related government and civilian agencies.

This role requires balancing the needs of the Space Force as a service provider with the needs of the end user, ensuring that proposed architectures are both technically sound and relevant across the full range of PNT and NAVWAR mission needs. The candidate will take a limited amount of customer direction, define the underlying problem, and build the analytical plan and team needed to solve it. This is an on-site role in Colorado Springs, CO.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical plans based on limited customer direction, breaking broad or ambiguous problems into clearly defined tasks
  • Own the analysis and analytical plan for PNT force designs from framing through delivery, including architectures that extend 10 or more years into the future
  • Lead a team of analysts, setting direction, reviewing work, and ensuring the team's output is rigorous and well-documented
  • Lead analytical software development efforts that support model building, data analysis, and force design evaluation
  • Develop and assess trade spaces across space-based, terrestrial, and alternative PNT sources, weighing performance, resilience, cost, and schedule
  • Represent both Space Force provider equities and end-user requirements throughout the force design process
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations that support investment and acquisition decisions across space-related government and civilian agencies
  • Apply systems engineering principles to structure problems, define architectures, and evaluate design alternatives
  • Build and apply quantitative models to assess PNT system performance, including accuracy, availability, and resistance to jamming, spoofing, and other forms of interference
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, and other analysts across the SWAC enterprise to ensure force design recommendations are well-informed and defensible
  • Communicate findings through written analysis, briefings, and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior government leadership

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of Position, Navigation, and Timing systems and concepts, including GPS and other satellite navigation constellations
  • Familiarity with Navigation Warfare concepts, including electromagnetic interference, signal resilience, and countermeasures
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles or systems-level thinking to complex technical problems
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to build and interpret models that support architecture-level decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an analytical plan from limited direction and structure an ambiguous problem into defined, manageable tasks
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of analysts and/or software developers on a technical project
  • Ability to communicate complex technical analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supporting Space Force, U.S. Space Command, or another space-related government or civilian agency
  • Familiarity with force design or capability-based planning methodologies
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools used to evaluate space or PNT system architectures
  • Background in acquisition processes and how analytical findings translate into investment decisions

What Success Looks Like:

The successful candidate will be recognized as a trusted analytical leader on PNT and NAVWAR force design, capable of turning limited direction into a clear plan, leading a team through it, and keeping both Space Force and end-user perspectives in view throughout. Their analysis will directly shape how space-related government and civilian agencies invest in future PNT capabilities.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility clearance and a willingness to obtain a CI Poly.

Target salary range: $114,108 - $220,000
