Job Title:Oracle Fusion ERP SME
Location:Boston,MA
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Fusion ERP Consultant to support a cross-functional initiative focused on optimizing enterprise data, streamlining processes, and designing a scalable future-state operating model for an industrial materials manufacturer.
The organization recently completed a migration from JD Edwards (JDE) to Oracle Fusion, creating an opportunity to further refine data models, standardize processes, and fully leverage Oracle Fusion s capabilities. As part of this next phase, the team is looking to enhance customer and commercial data structures, improve data consistency, and strengthen alignment across integrated systems. For instance, the implementation resulted in data model and process issues, including duplication of customer organization records and related downstream data quality challenges.
This consultant will serve as a strategic advisor, helping internal teams understand the full range of what is possible in Oracle Fusion, assess current-state configuration and processes, and guide the design of a future-state solution that supports business growth and seamless integration with commercial systems such as Salesforce, eCommerce, and reporting analytics platforms.
Required Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion ERP, especially in data model design, configuration, and business process optimization.
Experience supporting or remediating ERP migrations from JD Edwards to Oracle Fusion or similar legacy ERP-to-cloud ERP transitions.
Deep understanding of Oracle Fusion customer master data structures, including customer organizations, accounts, sites, contacts, hierarchies, and related data governance practices.
Experience working with Oracle Fusion product/item master data, pricing, order management, and related commercial data structures.
Demonstrated ability to identify root causes of poor data quality, process inefficiency, and system misuse.
Ability to explain Oracle Fusion capabilities clearly to non-technical business stakeholders and technical implementation teams.
Strong understanding of master data management principles, data governance, process controls, and enterprise data quality.
Experience translating business process requirements into ERP configuration, data model, and integration recommendations.
Ability to manage complex customer, product, pricing, and order management requirements in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with the focus, attention to detail, and contextual awareness needed to identify dependencies and avoid oversimplified recommendations.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in the chemical manufacturing, industrial materials, specialty chemicals, or regulated manufacturing industries.
Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, especially B2B eCommerce models involving customer-specific pricing, product visibility, quoting, ordering, and ERP integration.
Familiarity with Salesforce, especially how ERP structures need to align with SFDC objects.
Experience designing ERP data models that support downstream reporting, analytics, CRM, eCommerce, customer service, and order fulfillment processes.
Experience working with pricing complexity, customer hierarchies, multi-site customers, product catalogs, customer-specific terms, and business-unit-specific commercial structures.
Familiarity with lean process improvement, Kaizen events, Transactional Process Improvement, value stream mapping, or similar continuous improvement methods.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Acts as both an Oracle Fusion subject matter expert and a practical business process advisor.
Can teach internal teams what Oracle Fusion can and cannot do while helping them make informed design decisions.
Is comfortable challenging poor current-state assumptions and helping teams simplify overly complex data or process structures.
Can balance Oracle best practices with the practical realities of a manufacturing business.
Communicates clearly with executives, business users, IT teams, data teams, and integration developer
