Role: Master Data Management (MDM) Architect Retail & Supply Chain (Stibo STEP)
Experience: 14+ Years (Lead-level experience is acceptable; Architect title is not mandatory.)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced MDM Architect/Lead with strong expertise in Retail & Supply Chain and hands-on experience with the Stibo STEP platform. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise MDM initiatives, define master data strategies, design scalable data architectures, and drive implementations across Product, Supplier, Customer, and Location master data domains.
The role requires strong business domain knowledge, technical architecture expertise, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, data governance teams, and implementation teams to deliver enterprise MDM solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. MDM Strategy & Architecture
- Define enterprise MDM strategy, roadmap, and target-state architecture.
- Design scalable and sustainable master data solutions using Stibo STEP.
- Establish master data models, hierarchies, taxonomies, and governance frameworks.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction for MDM programs.
- Design integration architecture between MDM and enterprise applications.
2. Stibo STEP Implementation
- Lead end-to-end implementation and enhancement of Stibo STEP.
- Configure workflows, business rules, approval processes, and data quality controls.
- Design Product, Supplier, Customer, and Location master data models.
- Optimize STEP performance, scalability, and operational processes.
- Guide development teams on STEP best practices and implementation standards.
3. Retail & Supply Chain Data Management
- Design Product Information Management (PIM) solutions supporting merchandising and eCommerce.
- Develop supplier onboarding and supplier master data processes.
- Architect item lifecycle management and product enrichment processes.
- Support inventory, sourcing, procurement, distribution, and fulfillment data requirements.
- Define product hierarchies, assortments, attributes, classifications, and digital asset management strategies.
4. Data Governance & Quality
- Establish data governance frameworks and stewardship processes.
- Define data quality standards, KPIs, and monitoring processes.
- Implement data validation, matching, deduplication, and survivorship rules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define master data ownership and accountability.
5. Integration & Technology
Design integrations between Stibo STEP and:
- SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics (ERP)
- eCommerce platforms
- Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems
- CRM platforms
- Data warehouses and analytics platforms
Additional responsibilities:
- Define API-based and event-driven integration patterns.
- Collaborate with cloud, integration, and application architects.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business leaders across Merchandising, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT.
- Conduct architecture workshops and requirement gathering sessions.
- Mentor developers, analysts, and data stewards.
- Support program planning, estimation, and delivery governance.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Enterprise Data Architecture, or Data Management.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Stibo STEP.
- Experience implementing Product MDM/PIM solutions in retail environments.
- Experience leading enterprise MDM transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of retail and supply chain business processes.
Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in Stibo STEP architecture and configuration.
- Strong experience with:
- Product Master Data
- Supplier Master Data
- Customer Master Data
- Location/Store Master Data
- Data modeling, metadata management, and reference data management.
- APIs, ETL, middleware, and integration platforms.
- Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

- Knowledge of GS1, GDSN, and retail product syndication.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.

The ideal candidate has successfully delivered Stibo STEP Product and Supplier MDM/PIM implementations for retailers, wholesalers, distributors, or supply chain organizations and can drive both strategy and execution. Candidates with Lead-level experience are welcome; an Architect designation is not mandatory.
