1976 Senior SAP HRIS Functional Lead
Position Overview
Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior SAP HRIS Functional Lead to serve as the North American point of contact within its global HR systems framework.
This is a functional SAP HCM role — not a technical/development position. The individual will operate as the key liaison between HR business stakeholders and technical IT teams, ensuring HR processes are properly designed, governed, and supported within SAP.
This person will act as the North America Lead representing the HR Systems Center of Excellence, partnering with global process owners, shared services, and operational leadership to drive process standardization, system optimization, and digital transformation initiatives.
A primary focus of this role will be SAP Time Management (PT) process ownership, harmonization, and transition support within a complex operational environment.
Core Responsibilities
Regional Functional Lead (North America Lead – HR Systems COE)
- Serve as the functional HRIS lead for North America within the global HR technology structure
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders (HR & Operations) and technical SAP/IT teams
- Represent regional requirements in global HR systems initiatives
- Evaluate country-specific process needs and align them with enterprise standards
- Support regional rollout and adoption of global HR system enhancements
- Ensure North American compliance with global HR governance frameworks
SAP HRIS Functional Oversight (Non-Technical)
- Provide functional support across SAP HCM modules (no coding or ABAP development required)
- Translate business requirements into functional system specifications
- Partner with technical teams to resolve configuration and process issues
- Coordinate regional testing efforts (UAT, validation, documentation)
- Monitor HR KPIs and system performance metrics
- Support Shared Services and HR Operations with system-related inquiries
Governance, Documentation & Standardization
- Ensure consistent application of global HR process standards across North America
- Maintain and update regional process documentation
- Oversee adherence to enterprise approval workflows and compliance standards
- Drive simplification and harmonization of HR processes
Primary Focus Area: SAP Time Management (PT)
This role carries significant ownership in advancing SAP Time Management capabilities and governance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading regional alignment of Time Management processes
- Supporting the transition of time administration responsibilities to Operations
- Documenting and standardizing country-specific time processes
- Supporting functional configuration and maintenance of:
- Work schedules
- Time evaluation rules and schemas
- Holiday calendars
- Interfaces to payroll and other systems
This individual must have hands-on functional knowledge of SAP PT configuration and time evaluation logic.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in HRIS, SAP HCM, or HR process transformation
- Strong functional expertise in SAP HCM modules, including:
- PA – Personnel Administration
- PT – Time Management (critical)
- PY – Payroll
- OM – Organizational Management
- BN – Benefits
- ESS – Employee Self-Service
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (integration exposure preferred)
- Experience operating in a global or multi-country HR systems environment
- Solid understanding of HR system architecture and module interdependencies
- Strong knowledge of operational HR processes within manufacturing or operational environments preferred

Important Clarification
This is a functional SAP HRIS role.
It is not a technical developer or ABAP programming position.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on SAP Time Management configuration experience and strong business-facing communication skills, with the ability to translate operational needs into system solutions.
