Job Description
We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer (AI Orchestrator) to join a small, highly collaborative AI-Native engineering team. The AI Orchestrator is a strong software engineer who uses AI tools as a first-class part of the development lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve software quality, and shorten development feedback loops.
This position is not focused on training AI models or developing traditional machine learning pipelines. Instead, the role focuses on building production-grade software efficiently, safely, and reliably through AI-assisted engineering practices.
The ideal candidate should have strong software engineering fundamentals, experience designing and implementing applications and APIs, and the ability to effectively leverage AI tools for coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation, and software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
AI-Native Software Development
- Build, enhance, and maintain production-grade software applications using AI-assisted development workflows.
- Translate product and technical requirements into clean, scalable, and maintainable software.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, refactoring, and documentation.
- Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Use strong engineering judgment when incorporating AI-generated solutions into production systems.
Application Design & Implementation
- Design and develop clean, well-structured APIs, services, and application components.
- Contribute to scalable backend systems and full-stack solutions as required.
- Apply software engineering best practices while balancing development speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Participate in architecture, design, and technical review discussions.
- Develop reliable solutions that can be tested, monitored, maintained, and scaled effectively.
AI Orchestration & Workflow Execution
- Orchestrate the effective use of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Use AI-assisted workflows for:
- Code generation and refactoring
- Automated test creation and validation
- Debugging and root-cause analysis
- Technical documentation
- Design and engineering artifacts
- Follow established AI-Native engineering standards and development practices.
- Help refine and improve AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Provide feedback on AI tooling, processes, and development practices to improve team productivity and software quality.
Collaboration & Team Execution
- Collaborate closely with AI-Native Tech Architects and senior engineering leadership.
- Work effectively within a small, high-performing AI-Native engineering team.
- Deliver features and solutions end-to-end, from requirements through implementation and validation.
- Coordinate with adjacent engineering teams for integrations, dependencies, and shared services.
- Clearly communicate technical issues, risks, decisions, and tradeoffs to engineering and product stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer first who understands how to effectively incorporate modern AI tools into everyday engineering workflows. This role is best suited for someone who can move quickly while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, testing, reliability, and maintainability.
Key Requirements
- Strong software engineering and application development experience.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, services, and backend applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, refactoring, or documentation.
- Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience working in collaborative Agile engineering environments.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver software end-to-end.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced AI-Native engineering environment.
