About this PositionSupport the pricing and product development process, primarily by maintaining and updating pricing models and associated spreadsheets, performing profitability analysis, and assisting with product filings.
Assist with experience studies and the assumption setting process.
Perform monthly reporting duties related to new business.
Pass actuarial exams with the goal of attaining Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
Responsibilities & QualificationsJob ResponsibilitiesTerm Life Pricing - Build and maintain pricing models for all new business products (including renewals, conversions and riders), updating pricing assumptions and metrics annually, and assist with documenting in an annual pricing memo. Provide support to other departments including Ratebook, Valuation, Reinsurance Administration, Underwriting, Legal, etc.
Filing & Illustration Work- Assist with annual illustration compliance testing and assist with nonforfeiture testing and creating actuarial memoranda for all new products and as needed.
Support Reinsurance Negotiations - Use pricing models to assess the impact of reinsurance quotes or rate changes within the pricing framework.
Experience Studies- Support experience studies to evaluate actual experience against pricing assumptions.
Actuarial Exams - Pass actuarial exams with the goal of attaining Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
Required Education - Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, or Finance or equivalent experience. Must have passed at least 1 actuarial exam.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Technical computer skills including spreadsheets and database queries
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and alternative ways to solve those problems
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
