API Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and support enterprise APIs used by internal systems and external-facing websites
Build and enhance member data APIs, with a focus on understanding member data and its integration requirements
Develop and support integrations between existing systems, including claims systems such as RXClaim and Magellan, as well as JUDI and other enterprise APIs
Contribute to cloud transformation initiatives, including migration from WSO2 to Java-based microservices and modern API management platforms
Work with WSO2 API technologies and support the transition to Kong for API management
Develop and maintain APIs across different projects, ranging from small enhancements to large-scale integration initiatives
Collaborate with analysts, developers, and other technical team members in an Agile delivery environment
Work with SQL databases to support data access, integration, and troubleshooting
Support API deployment, monitoring, and operational maintenance across cloud environments
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support production issues when required
Participate in monthly releases, typically scheduled on Thursday nights, and support release activities on a rotating basis
Identify opportunities to improve API solutions, engineering practices, and overall system design

Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience
