Context
We are seeking a highly skilled 5G/LTE Expert to join our innovative team. This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of next-generation high-performance fixed wireless gateways. You will work closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver reliable, standards-compliant, and high-throughput 5G/LTE solutions.
Main Missions
o Contribute to the 5G technology and product roadmap
o Guide customers during the product definition phase
o Participate to hardware design choices (key components, cost driven conception).
o Guide engineering Software developments during the design phase
o Propose SW architecture and evolutions in Sagemcom supported middlewares while identifying opportunities of contributions to open source communities such as PRPL or RDK-B
o Build test plans to confirm functions and performance of the products
o Reproduce, Investigate and resolve issues with the engineering teams, SoC vendor support and the customers
o Conduct trainings to Sagemcom engineering groups involved in 5G/LTE projects. Maintain a corporate knowledge database
o Follow chip-makers and module vendors roadmaps
o Evaluate new chipsets, software and RF solutions, module vendor samples
o Benchmark certification labs capabilities, lead certification efforts for our CPE remotely or locally in the US labs
Skills and qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in the industry.
Strong understanding of 3GPP standards including LTE, 5G NR (NSA & SA)
Protocol stack expertise for layer 1~3 protocols, including PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC,
Understanding of carrier aggregation, dual connectivity (EN-DC) and other advanced 5G/LTE features.
Familiarity with RF principles and physical layer parameters, such as SNR, RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, SINR.
Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols (IPv4/IPv6, NAT, XLAT, DNS, DHCP).
Proficiency in modem log analysis tools, such as QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark.
Ability to analyze over-the-air (OTA) signaling and low-level logs for failure root cause (attach failures, handovers, call drops, ) and performance bottlenecks.
Use of log decoders and post-processing scripts (e.g., Python) for test automation and data analysis.
Familiarity with network emulators and test equipment, such as R&S, Anritsu, Keysight, Spirent.
Understanding of carrier conformance and GCF/PTCRB certification processes.
Experience with interoperability testing (IOT) with major network operators.
Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including RF, software, test.
