**Position Overview**
The client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our FinTech client team and drive engineering excellence on a modern, cloud-native platform. This role blends full-stack development with cloud and big data expertise. You will lead by example, design and build high-quality software, solve complex technical challenges, and help establish a strong technical standard across the team.
This position involves developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications in distributed environments handling petabyte-scale market data. The successful candidate will work closely with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver impactful solutions on AWS, leveraging serverless architectures, big data platforms, and AI-driven development practices.
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential for guiding teams, influencing technical decisions, and driving innovation.
**Key Responsibilities**
Design, develop, and deliver full-stack solutions using modern technologies and best engineering practices.
Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that process large and complex datasets.
Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot, and frontend interfaces using Angular or modern JavaScript frameworks.
Utilize AWS cloud and serverless technologies (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, EMR) to design highly available and cost-efficient systems.
Work with distributed systems and big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, and AWS EMR.
Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, estimation, development, and testing.
Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, implementing robust testing strategies across the SDLC.
Perform performance tuning for SQL queries and large-scale data processing workloads.
Contribute to architecture and design discussions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Leverage AI-assisted tools and modern workflows to improve software delivery, productivity, and innovation.
Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud, big data, and AI.
**Required Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
7+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
Strong experience in Java, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and modern web application development.
Hands-on experience with Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
5+ years of experience building applications on AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, EMR).
4+ years of experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, AWS EMR).
Strong experience in SQL development and performance tuning.
Experience with distributed computing and large-scale data processing systems.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including testing, automation, and CI/CD.
Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance engineering productivity and software delivery.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Experience architecting complex, enterprise-grade applications.
Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
Hands-on experience with serverless and event-driven architectures.
Experience in financial services or market data platforms.
Exposure to petabyte-scale data and big data ecosystems.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Unix Shell, Groovy, or Perl.
Strong understanding of distributed system design and performance optimization.
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
