Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Engineer III to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role involves handling complex engineering tasks, providing subject matter expertise, and leading multiple projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with peers, customers, and co-workers. This is a long-term contract position requiring on-site presence five days a week.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering design reviews and agency permitting efforts from start to finish.
  • Provide engineering oversight for construction activities.
  • Review RFIs and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify and implement improved work alternatives and business processes.
  • Provide assistance, advice, and solutions to peers, customers, and co-workers.
  • Ensure engineering designs and permitting deadlines are met while maintaining regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in civil engineering; a PE license is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and strong personal computer skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and self-discipline.
  • Experience with design reviews and local, state, and federal permitting is strongly preferred.
  • Engineering field experience is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma is required.

Additional Details:
  • This is a 5+ year project/contract.
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred. If relocation is required, a one-time $1,000 mobilization cost is reimbursable.
  • On-site presence is required five days a week; no per diem is available for this role.

  • Overtime may be required based on project schedule demands, with an expectation of 40-50 hours per week.

Pay Range: $55 - $60/hr. W2
