Quality Assurance Consultant

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Tester for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJa. This is a 11+ month contract opportunity.

This role will work directly with project teams and managers to support all aspects of the testing lifecycle and automation. The Tester will work alongside development and business partners to determine optimal test coverage and ensure high-quality, defect-free software is delivered to customers. This position is accountable for ensuring that test planning, execution, and defect management for various projects are delivered flawlessly.

Responsibilities:

• Support all aspects of the testing lifecycle and automation
• Work with development and business partners to determine optimal test coverage
• Ensure high quality and defect-free software is delivered to customers
• Manage test planning, test execution, and defect management for a variety of projects
• Review testing artifacts and all required testing activities to ensure adherence to existing standards

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, and Test Automation
• Proven ability to work as an independent, self-motivated professional, requiring minimal supervision and guidance
• Strong experience reviewing functional and technical design specifications to ensure complete understanding and delivery of testing artifacts (e.g., Test Plans, Test Cases)
• Demonstrated expertise in analyzing requirements, identifying test data needs, and developing high-quality positive and negative test cases
• Hands-on experience with functional testing, system integration testing (SIT), and regression testing
• Experience in Web Services testing using tools such as SOATest and SOAP UI
• Hands-on experience with SQL, JSON, and batch job processing
• Experience with database testing across platforms such as Cassandra, Oracle, and DB2
• Strong understanding of messaging and integration technologies, including MQ, RESTful services, and Kafka
• Experience executing and evaluating manual and automated test cases, analyzing results, and reporting defects
• Ability to facilitate test plan and test case reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong defect management skills, including defect identification, tracking, analysis, and lifecycle management
• Working knowledge of test management tools such as Quality Center and Octane
• Experience developing test automation frameworks using tools such as SOATest, TOSCA, UFT, or Selenium
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and familiarity with Agile methodologies

Desired skills:

• MQ/Kafka/REST and DB Testing
• Knowledge of various CI/CD tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, GIT, Jenkins and Ansible
• Prior working experience on implementing automation solutions for CI/CD pipeline
• Testing experience with UI and Hadoop applications
• Experience with ETL testing and validations

Pay range: $21.69 - $29.69 per hour
