Information Security Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX seeking an Information Security Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect enterprise systems, applications, and data
* Monitor and respond to security incidents, alerts, and events; participate in incident response and root cause analysis
* Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, and security reviews across infrastructure, cloud, and applications
* Implement and manage security tooling (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, IAM, DLP)
* Support security architecture reviews for new systems, applications, and third-party integrations
* Partner with infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and application teams to embed security throughout the SDLC
* Assist with incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and continuous improvement of response procedures
* Support audits, compliance efforts, and security documentation aligned with frameworks such as NIST, ISO, SOC 2, PCI, or similar
* Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and technical documentation
* Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to recommend proactive improvements

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
* 3-7+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or security engineering roles
* Strong understanding of security principles across network, system, application, and cloud domains
* Hands-on experience with common security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and IAM solutions
* Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
* Experience conducting vulnerability management and remediation activities
* Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001)
* Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
