As a Software Engineer II Business & Industry Copilot Foundations team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Microsoft's mission. You will contribute to the development and integration of cutting-edge AI technologies into Microsoft products and services, ensuring they are inclusive, ethical, and impactful.

Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable cloud services and APIs that support Business & Industry Copilot scenarios and business-critical workloads.
- Collaborate with product managers, partner engineering teams, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into well-designed technical solutions.
- Implement features and services using modern software engineering practices, including clean architecture, reusable components, and automated testing.
- Contribute to design discussions and technical reviews, producing design documentation and participating in code reviews to uphold engineering quality standards.
- Own features and components end-to-end, from development through deployment and live-site support, operating within a DevOps model.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, participating in on-call rotations and supporting service reliability, availability, and performance
- Use telemetry, logging, and monitoring to drive data-informed decisions and continuous service improvement.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualification:- 1+ years of experience with generative AI OR LLM/ML algorithms.
- 3+ years of experience developing and deploying live production systems
- Experience with Microsoft stack technologies (Azure / .NET)
- Familiarity with modern LLMOps frameworks (e.g., LangChain, PromptFlow)
- Experience across the product lifecycle from ideation to shipping
- Experience with container technologies (Docker / Kubernetes)

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
