Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Technology Engineer (Operations) with a strong developer mindset and experience in building, automating, and supporting cloud-native applications in Azure and AWS environments. The ideal candidate will have exposure to observability platforms, automation frameworks, and Generative AI tools to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.

This role focuses on enhancing observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, and SolarWinds, improving signal quality, reducing alert fatigue, and ensuring effective event routing. The engineer will also work closely with cross-functional teams across operations, monitoring, and security to strengthen platform health and incident response workflows.

A key aspect of this role is leveraging AI-driven development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to accelerate scripting, automation, documentation, and operational improvements. The engineer will also support hybrid cloud environments with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and contribute to CI/CD automation and platform lifecycle activities.

Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain hybrid environments across on-prem and Azure infrastructure
Design, build, and support cloud-native applications in AWS and Azure using a developer-first mindset
Own the full application lifecycle including design, development, CI/CD automation, deployment, and production support
Develop automation solutions using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
Leverage Generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for coding, automation, and documentation
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate repetitive operational tasks
Optimize observability platforms (Datadog, Dynatrace, SolarWinds) to improve alert quality and reduce noise
Collaborate with platform, operations, and security teams to improve incident management workflows
Support event management processes including alert routing, triage, and escalation
Contribute to runbooks, documentation, and continuous operational improvements
Participate in on-call or escalation rotations as required
Support knowledge transfer activities during platform transitions and upgrades

Must Have Skills
5+ years of experience in software development or systems engineering with a strong developer mindset
Hands-on experience in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
Experience with Azure services, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure AD (preferred)
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
Experience working in modern DevOps environments using GitHub (branches, PRs, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines)
Exposure to observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, or SolarWinds
Experience with automation and infrastructure monitoring in cloud-native environments
Understanding of incident and event management practices (alerting, triage, escalation)
Experience integrating Generative AI tools into development or automation workflows
Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work in fast-paced environments
Familiarity with Agile or SAFe methodologies

Nice to Have
Exposure to SIEM platforms such as Azure Sentinel, Cribl, or similar tools
Understanding of log ingestion, security telemetry, and detection workflows
Experience with Spring Boot, Apache Camel, REST APIs, or enterprise integrations
JMS (ActiveMQ or similar messaging systems) experience
MS SQL Server or Sybase experience
Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, GitLab CI
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience in enterprise IT change management processes
