Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design and develop the software supporting global liquidity portfolio managers and trading desks. Transform the legacy JPMC's proprietary liquidity trading platform to modern design and architecture. Provide day-to- day support to both portfolio managers and trading desks. Discuss with portfolio managers and trading desks to understand their needs and requests and transform the business needs into technological solution. Keep up-to-date on JPMC's proprietary software security standard and apply necessary changes within the portfolio management and trading system to conform to it. Work closely with JPMC's position keeping and settlement software engineering team to ensure their deliverables fit the business needs of the global liquidity business. Train colleagues within the team and review the software engineering and coding standards of junior team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computing and Financial Management, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing and developing portfolio management and trading system for financial products including variable rate demands notes, commercial paper, corporate note, certificate of deposit, money market fund, municipal bond, bilateral and triparty repo; using financial products settlement workflow to ensure system design has catered the time critical natural of money market product; developing software using behavior-driven and test-driven development; developing software in a microservice architecture and an event sourcing architecture; developing software utilizing Apache Kafka and REST API; developing software utilizing Google Guice and Maven to resolve application dependencies; optimizing and reducing complexity on database store procedures and SQL queries; Ant; Apache Tomcat; C++; Cassandra; CSS; Cucumber; Dynatrace; Geneos; Grafana; InfluxDB; Git; Hibernate; J2EE; Javascripts; Jenkins; JQuery; JSON; Junit; Maven; Microservices; MongoDB; Oracle; Infrastructure Architecture Disciplines; Linux; Unix; Windows; Performance Testing; Rest; SASS; Scala; Shell scripting; SOAP and REST web services; Software Development; Spark; Splunk; Spring Framework; SQL; SVN; Websphere; XML; Solace; Ignite; MQ; translating business requests into technical requirements; and working with Java technology including its syntax and garbage collectors.
