SOC Analyst I / Security Operations Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Security Operations Analyst to monitor security alerts, investigate threats, and support incident response across a healthcare technology environment. The role will help protect systems, patient health information (PHI), and clinical services using Microsoft security tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage alerts using Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.

• Investigate phishing, malware, unauthorized access, and other security incidents.

• Support incident response, evidence collection, and threat containment.

• Assist with vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and security control validation.

• Maintain incident documentation, playbooks, dashboards, and security reports.

• Collaborate with IT, cloud, infrastructure, and compliance teams to resolve security issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, networking, or systems administration.

• Foundational knowledge of security monitoring, incident response, endpoint security, and identity management.

• Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365, and cloud concepts.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Experience with Microsoft security tools, SOC operations, or incident response.

• Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, or healthcare security requirements.

• Experience with ticketing or case management systems.

Work Schedule: Standard business hours with occasional on-call support, including nights, weekends, and holidays during security incidents.
