Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mirth / CDR / Smile FHIR Lead with strong expertise in healthcare interoperability (HL7/FHIR) and hands-on experience with Mirth Connect and Smile CDR. The role involves managing healthcare data integrations, monitoring system performance, and resolving production issues across clinical data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor jobs, certificate updates, and performance/memory of FHIR servers
  • Handle data issues and resolve system problems through ticketing processes
  • Monitor and respond to tickets/emails from vendors, providers, and payer representatives
  • Manage healthcare interoperability workflows using HL7 and FHIR standards
  • Support Clinical Data Repository (CDR) operations and data flow management
  • Perform incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders for issue resolution
  • Ensure system stability, performance, and high availability

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with Mirth Connect (Mandatory)
  • Hands-on experience with HL7 V2.x / V3.x interfaces
  • Experience with HL7 message types: ADT, ORU
  • Working knowledge of FHIR and Smile CDR
  • Strong understanding of XML, CCD, CDA, and HIPAA compliance
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards: LOINC, ICD-9/ICD-10, SNOMED
  • Experience in CDR (Clinical Data Repository) management
  • Strong experience in incident management, ticket handling, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with certificate management and server monitoring

Technical Skills

  • Develop, test, and implement HL7 interfaces
  • Work with real-time (TCP/IP, VPN) and batch (FTP/SFTP) interfaces
  • Perform Mirth server configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning
  • Support QA/UAT and post-production stabilization
  • Implement API/Webservices integration from Mirth
  • Experience with Two-way SSL protocols
  • Strong database skills (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Document technical processes, workflows, and procedures

Additional Requirements

  • Experience managing high-availability Mirth environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot inbound feeds and resolve performance issues
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production support environment
