Overview

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to support strategic Next Gen Datacenter expansion and operational excellence initiatives. This role is critical to scaling and optimizing enterprise database platforms including MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB across all supported environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep database operations experience, strong automation capabilities (Python preferred), and exposure to AI-driven operational enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Lead the design, implementation, and management of complex MongoDB, EDB PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB environments

• 
  

  Drive advanced data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning initiatives

• 
  

  Architect and implement high availability, replication, and disaster recovery solutions

• 
  

  Design and enforce security controls including CIS benchmarks and database auditing

• 
  

  Develop and certify next-generation database technologies

• 
  

  Lead automation initiatives to streamline build, deployment, and operational support practices

• 
  

  Reduce MTTR and improve SLA adherence through automation and operational tooling

• 
  

  Establish operational standards, policies, and best practices

• 
  

  Provide technical leadership and influence long-term database strategy

• 
  

  Collaborate across enterprise teams to resolve high-impact data platform challenges

• 
  

  Participate in on-call DBA rotation

• 
  

  Act as subject matter expert within the Database Management Organization (DMO)

Required Qualifications

• 
  

  5+ years of Database Operations experience supporting:

  
  
  • 
    

    MongoDB

  • 
    

    EDB PostgreSQL

  • 
    

    YugabyteDB

  
  
• 
  

  Strong experience in database design, performance tuning, and capacity planning

• 
  

  Hands-on automation experience (Python strongly preferred)

• 
  

  Experience building repeatable operational processes and infrastructure automation

• 
  

  Experience implementing database high availability and replication solutions

• 
  

  Ability to lead complex initiatives with enterprise-wide impact

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  

  Experience applying AI to database operations (AIOps, predictive monitoring, automation enhancements)

• 
  

  Strong scripting or programming skills (Python preferred)

• 
  

  Financial services industry experience

• 
  

  Prior bank contracting experience

• 
  

  Experience designing secure database platforms aligned with compliance standards

  Strong customer service orientation and ability to influence stakeholders
