As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Securitized Products Group team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Proactively communicates with leads and peers to iteratively plan and deliver on software solutions
- Recognizes and follows established patterns or help establish new ones, as needed to ensure consistency and stability, with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches for building solutions or breaking down technical problems
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems
- Engages with communities of practice across Software Engineering to become aware of and use new and leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong knowledge & hands-on experience coding with the JavaScript language and utilizing front-end UI frameworks, such as Angular or React
- Proficiency building ASP.NET MVC, Web API, or REST style applications
- Hands-on experience coding in the C-sharp (C#) language utilizing either the .NET Core or .NET frameworks
- Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Experience with and understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Experience in SQL scripting, or T-SQL in SQL Server 2019 or higher
- Proficiency with development toolsets (e.g. Git, Visual Studio 2019/2022, VS Code)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development using cloud providers such as AWS and
- Familiarity with AI-powered coding tools (e.g. Github CoPilot or similar)
