Job Summary


The Principal Experience Designer will drive strategy and delivery within the Customer Experience (CX) Suite. They are responsible for ensuring that UX/UI and CX design strategies and capabilities accelerate the organization's progress toward delivering exceptional customer experiences and business impact. This role serves as a key individual contributor and subject matter expert, applying UX/UI design expertise in the development of digital products and capabilities while mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape a digital-first Experience Design vision and standards by leveraging industry trends and aligning with strategic business priorities.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director and Director of Experience Design to drive design vision, product standards, stakeholder alignment, technical capabilities, and process improvements.
  • Develop innovation workstreams to support experimentation and new product features.
  • Define target users with Analytics partners, leverage user research, prioritize features, and establish performance objectives.
  • Lead key Experience Design initiatives, including strategic planning, execution, delivery milestones, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Advocate for UX/UI and CX Design across the enterprise by communicating value propositions and product roadmaps.
  • Drive prioritization, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution across cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI Analysts to balance business objectives with technical feasibility.
  • Partner with Business Product Owners and Customer Experience leadership to align roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Work with Global Product Managers to share best practices and improve efficiencies.
  • Deliver business-relevant products by gathering stakeholder feedback while meeting enterprise objectives.
  • Develop business cases and support budgeting and funding requirements.
  • Define business requirements for product usage and system health using GNE and industry standards.
  • Partner with measurement and optimization teams to advance CX and UX capabilities.
People
  • Mentor and coach junior Experience Designers.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and accountable team culture.
  • Promote excellence in design craftsmanship and quality.
Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Operations, Science, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 7+ years in Experience Design, Product Design, UX Design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience owning the full product lifecycle, including vision, roadmap, execution, and impact measurement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching designers.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams.
  • Ability to innovate, experiment, and improve product capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MBA or related graduate qualification) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Proven success managing complex, strategic projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of workflow tools, automation systems, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience building and managing design systems.
