AI/ML Engineer - Machine Translation, NLP & Generative AI
6 months (Contract-to-Hire)
$50 - $52 per hour (W2 only)
Must-have competencies
- Strong Python programming and production software engineering.
- Hands-on NLP, deep learning, and sequence-to-sequence architectures.
- Direct experience with machine translation models, translation APIs, or localization pipelines.
- LLMs, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning.
- Google understanding of Cloud Vertex AI or comparable cloud ML platforms.
- Some knowledge of STT/TTS or voice AI integration.
- Translation glossaries, terminology management, or retail-domain localization (nice-to-have).
- Understanding of BLEU, COMET, and human-in-the-loop translation evaluation.
Useful additional experience (Nice-to-Have):
- Transformer-based models, such as MarianMT, mBART, or NLLB.
- Translation platforms or APIs, such as Google Cloud Translation, Amazon Translate, or Azure AI Translator.
- Containerization, scalable API services, latency optimization, and observability.
