Summary

Role: Senior AutoSys Platform Engineer
Location: 2 positions (one is Remote and one is onsite @  Irvine CA)
Rate: hourly on c2c AIC
6 months + possible extension

  • Position - 1 - Onsite in Irvine, CA  (onsite) 
  • Position - 2 - is remote preferably east coast, as the remote role requires them to follow EST.
  • Project duration - 6-months (high possibilities of extension)

Role Summary:

  • Client is seeking a highly experienced Senior AutoSys Platform Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for a large-scale enterprise AutoSys Workload Automation platform.
  • This role will provide advanced technical leadership for platform stability, architecture, performance optimization, cloud deployments, upgrades, and complex troubleshooting.
  • The ideal candidate should possess deep AutoSys expertise and be capable of investigating and resolving platform issues at a level comparable to a Broadcom AutoSys support engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Architecture and Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the primary technical SME and escalation point for AutoSys platform-related issues.
  • Provide guidance on AutoSys platform architecture, design, scalability, resiliency, and operational best practices.
  • Review and recommend improvements to platform configurations, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Mentor engineers and support teams on AutoSys platform administration and troubleshooting.

Advanced Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis:

  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex scheduler, event processor, agent, worker, and WCC issues.
  • Perform deep-dive root cause analysis of platform outages, performance degradation, and recurring operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex agent communication, job execution, database connectivity, and event processing problems.
  • Partner with vendor support teams when required to diagnose product defects and platform-level issues.

Platform Performance and Reliability Engineering:

  • Analyze and optimize scheduler, agent, and database performance across enterprise AutoSys environments.
  • Develop proactive monitoring, alerting, health checks, and performance dashboards.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase platform stability, scalability, and availability.
  • Support capacity planning and long-term platform growth initiatives.

Platform Lifecycle Management:

  • Lead AutoSys upgrades, patches, migrations, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate new releases, features, and compatibility requirements across platform components.
  • Develop upgrade, rollback, and recovery procedures to ensure successful implementation.
  • Establish platform standards, operational runbooks, and technical documentation.

Cloud and Container Platform Engineering:

  • Provide technical leadership for AutoSys deployments hosted in AWS and cloud-native environments.
  • Support and troubleshoot containerized AutoSys components, workers, and cloud-based agents.
  • Guide platform migration activities from traditional infrastructure to cloud-hosted architectures.
  • Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams on security, networking, automation, and operational readiness.

Required Skills:

  • 8 plus years of hands-on AutoSys platform engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of AutoSys platform internals and architecture.
  • Advanced Linux administration and system-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise scheduling platforms.
  • Experience supporting AutoSys deployments in AWS and cloud-based environments.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting containerized AutoSys deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
  • Experience with AutoSys cloud migration initiatives.
  • Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and platform engineering practices.
  • Experience working directly with Broadcom support teams or equivalent enterprise scheduler expertise.
  • AWS certification or strong AWS infrastructure experience.
