Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite required)
Duration: 12-month contract (extendable / conversion potential)
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 6-8 years of software engineering experience (core skills within the last 4 years)
- 6+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
- 2+ years of experience with SQL databases
- 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OpenShift or similar)
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit or similar)
- Experience working in Agile development environments
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Google Apigee or API gateway platforms
- Experience with application modernization and containerization
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with frontend frameworks (React or Angular)
- Familiarity with Python or scripting languages
About the RoleAs a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and full-stack applications supporting shipping label generation and print operations. You will contribute to modernization efforts as applications transition to cloud-native architectures and incorporate AI-driven features.
You will work on a team responsible for a portfolio of applications supporting mail and print operations, with an opportunity to specialize in 1-2 core systems.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot
- Build and support event-driven systems leveraging Kafka and streaming technologies
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services
- Contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including containerization
- Ensure application performance, scalability, and security through best practices
- Implement unit and integration testing using JUnit, Mockito, or similar tools
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization
- Support vulnerability remediation and improve system reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
