Summary

Engagement Overview
We are seeking a Wireless Engineer to deliver a focused, short-duration Cisco Meraki engagement for an ITC Houston customer. The customer has migrated from a legacy Cisco on-premises wireless environment to Cisco Meraki MR across two sites (approximately 75 access points) and is approximately 90–95% complete. The engineer will perform a targeted configuration review of the existing deployment and complete the final IoT SSID using Cisco Meraki Access Manager with MAC-based access control.
This is a finishing engagement, not a greenfield deployment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working autonomously against a tight scope, delivering clean documentation, and interfacing directly with the customer''s technical team.

Key Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for the full delivery lifecycle across five phases:
  • Lead kickoff and discovery activities with the customer''s technical team, validating dashboard access, license posture, and prerequisites
  • Perform a configuration health check of the deployed Meraki dashboard, three live SSIDs (Corporate with 802.1X/RADIUS, Employee Mobile, and Sponsored Guest), and RF profile
  • Design and configure a fourth SSID for IoT devices using Cisco Meraki Access Manager, including MAC-based authentication policy, identity group creation, allowlist seeding, and VLAN/group policy mapping
  • Perform functional testing including positive tests with authorized devices, negative tests with unauthorized devices, and regression checks on existing SSIDs
  • Produce written deliverables including a configuration review summary, as-built documentation, an admin quick-reference runbook, and an engagement closure summary
  • Conduct a remote knowledge transfer session with the customer''s technical staff on day-two IoT device management
  • Track hours daily against the 30-hour NTE and escalate proactively if burn rate exceeds plan

Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on enterprise wireless engineering experience
  • 3+ years of direct Cisco Meraki MR configuration and administration experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco Meraki Access Manager including identity groups, authentication policies, and MAC-based access control (MAB)
  • Working knowledge of 802.1X, WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, EAP-TLS with certificate-based authentication, and RADINPS integration
  • Experience configuring VLANs, group policies, L3/L7 firewall rules, and traffic shaping in Meraki Dashboard
  • Familiarity with Meraki organization and network administration, licensing (MR Advanced/Enterprise and Access Manager), and dashboard best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across wireless authentication, VLAN tagging, DHCP, DNS, and firewall interactions
  • Ability to write clear, customer-ready technical documentation (as-built, findings reports, runbooks)
  • Confident customer-facing communication — comfortable running kickoff calls, working sessions, and knowledge transfers directly with a customer''s technical staff

Preferred Skills
  • Cisco Meraki CMNA or equivalent Meraki certification
  • CCNA Wireless, CCNP Enterprise Wireless, or CWNP certifications (CWNA, CWSP)
  • Prior experience migrating enterprise environments from Cisco AireOS/IOS-XE WLC to Meraki
  • Experience with iPSK as an alternative to MAB for IoT segmentation
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft NPS, and PKI-based certificate deployment
  • Experience with adjacent Meraki products (MS switches, MX firewalls) for full-stack context
  • Prior consulting or professional services delivery experience (T&M engagements, SOW-driven work)

Deliverables the Engineer Owns
  • Configuration review summary document covering the three existing SSIDs
  • IoT SSID and Access Manager as-built documentation
  • Test validation results with positive, negative, and regression test outcomes
  • Admin quick-reference runbook for day-two IoT MAC management
  • Knowledge transfer session (remote, recorded if requested)
  • Engagement closure summary
