Senior Java Software Engineer / Technical Lead (U.S. Remote)

Introduction

Winsome Software LLC is seeking an experienced, dependable Java software engineer to serve as a primary U.S.-based technical contact for enterprise client engagements. This is a hands-on role involving enterprise application development, production support, database troubleshooting, and collaboration with distributed development teams. We value engineers who solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and take responsibility for business-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise applications using Java.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for U.S. client engineering teams.
• Support production systems, investigate incidents, and resolve technical problems.
• Work with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
• Develop REST APIs, integrations, and microservices.
• Participate in architecture, deployments, and technical planning.
• Coordinate with distributed teams where authorized by client agreements.
• Conduct code reviews, maintain documentation, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Follow required security, privacy, and regulated-data handling procedures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills.
• Production enterprise application support experience.
• Spring Boot, REST API, and microservices experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership.
• All engagement work must be performed physically within the United States.
• Ability to meet applicable client security, screening, and access requirements.

Preferred Experience

Azure or comparable cloud platforms; Oracle administration and performance tuning; legacy modernization; government, healthcare, or regulated industries; CI/CD and DevOps; technical leadership; AI-assisted development.
