Position: Confluent Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: Long Term Contract
Required Skills
- 6+ years of experience in software/data engineering with strong Apache Kafka experience.
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Kafka Brokers
- Topics and Partitions
- Replication
- Consumer Groups
- Offset Management
- Producer/Consumer APIs
- Strong experience with Kafka Connect and connectors.
- Experience with Schema Registry.
- Experience with Avro, JSON, and/or Protobuf.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams and/or ksqlDB.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or Scala.
- Experience with REST APIs and enterprise application integration.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of CDC/Debezium is highly desirable.
- Experience with Kafka security including SSL/TLS, SASL, and ACLs.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong Linux/Unix troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent.
