Position Overview
Panasonic North America is launching a targeted AI-driven modernization effort to enhance backend services and infrastructure performance. The Senior Developer 2 will play a critical role in a specialized innovation pod leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate code optimization, refactoring, and architectural improvements. This position operates alongside the core engineering team, focusing exclusively on AI-assisted development experimentation, validation, and measurable system improvements.

Mission of the Team
The team has identified strategic opportunities to improve backend code quality, scalability, and infrastructure efficiency. A dedicated AI-focused unit will:
Utilize AI development tools to analyze and refactor legacy code
Implement AI-generated optimization recommendations
Validate performance, maintainability, and scalability improvements
Measure outcomes and determine production readiness
This initiative aims to modernize engineering workflows while increasing development velocity and code consistency.

Required Qualifications
Strong full-stack development experience (.NET C# + ReactJS)
Demonstrated advanced proficiency with GitHub Copilot in enterprise development environments
Experience using AI tools for code optimization, debugging, and refactoring
Experience working within containerized environments (Kubernetes)
Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Core Responsibilities
Lead AI-assisted refactoring of .NET C# microservices
Develop and enhance ReactJS front-end components aligned with backend improvements
Leverage GitHub Copilot (advanced usage required) and Claude Code to accelerate development tasks
Evaluate AI-generated code for quality, security, and architectural alignment
Collaborate with QA (automation with AI) and DevOps/Infrastructure (Kubernetes, Kafka) resources
Conduct performance benchmarking and outcome validation
Identify opportunities to apply AI to improve existing development workflows
Troubleshoot complex distributed system issues across services and infrastructure
