Description:
Overview

The organization is seeking a Senior BI Consultant / Power BI Developer to support several data warehouse initiatives. The role involves designing and developing reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI, collaborating with Data Engineering and Analytics teams, and providing expertise in data visualization. The consultant will also work closely with various stakeholders to support enterprise-level data and BI system enhancements.
Responsibilities

Report Development & Migration

Migrate existing SSRS reports to Power BI Report Server.
Design and develop reporting solutions in Power BI based on business requirements.
Participate in upgrade and migration efforts from legacy systems to Power BI.
Tune and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards.

Data & BI Engineering

Create and maintain BI models using Power BI, SSAS, AAS, data flows.
Assist in designing and developing cubes and metadata using best practices.
Support data analytics enterprise models and large dataset ad-hoc reporting platforms.
Work with data lake reporting layers.

Best Practices & Team Collaboration

Define and follow Power BI development best practices.
Work with Product Owners, technical teams, business users to meet requirements.
Provide mentorship to other developers.
Develop monitoring systems for usage and stability.
Maintain SDLC documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of technical experience.
5+ years creating complex reports, dashboards, scorecards.
5+ years advanced Power BI experience (including ODI).
5+ years SQL experience with strong query writing.
2+ years experience with BI tools (e.g., Cognos).
Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server data sources.
Solid understanding of data modeling, SSAS tabular models, and BI architecture.
Experience with SSRS, SSIS, OLAP, ETL frameworks.
Strong problem-solving, analysis, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple requests.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Cloud technologies.
Experience with Agile methodologies and star schema modeling.
Strong team collaboration skills.
Power BI certification is a plus.
