Location: Columbia, South Carolina (Onsite)
Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an IT Support Technician to provide frontline technical support to end users. This position will troubleshoot computers, software, user accounts, peripherals, connectivity, classroom technology, audiovisual equipment, and other common technology issues. The role will also assist with workstation setup, equipment deployment, employee onboarding and offboarding, classroom and meeting technology, and routine technology maintenance. The technician will work under the direction of the client's IT staff and escalate issues that require advanced troubleshooting or administrative access.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline technical support to end users in person, remotely, and through the service request process.
- Diagnose and resolve common issues involving Windows and macOS computers, software, user accounts, printers, peripherals, network connectivity, monitors, docking stations, and other workplace technology.
- Assist with workstation setup, equipment replacement, technology deployments, office moves, and other routine technology needs.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Document completed work and troubleshooting steps.
- Escalate issues requiring advanced troubleshooting or administrative access.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of or experience supporting computers, technology, or end users. Foundational IT knowledge, along with troubleshooting and customer service skills, is expected. Relevant education, technical training, certifications, internships, or help desk experience may be considered.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals. Ability to troubleshoot common computer and technology problems. Familiarity with Windows environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: Windows 10/11, macOS, Microsoft 365, basic networking concepts, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Jamf, mobile devices, classroom and audiovisual technology, or conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
