Project Manager Contractor - Financial Security Policy

Location: Washington, D.C.

Schedule: Onsite Tuesday-Thursday; Work From Home Monday and Friday

Position Type: Temporary Contract

Role Overview

This temporary Project Manager contractor position will support key priorities for the Financial Security policy team within the Client Public Policy Institute. The contractor will provide project management, coordination, and product development support; manage incoming requests; and coordinate across the enterprise as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project tracking for key priorities, including timelines, milestones, next steps, risks, and follow-up items.
  • Triage incoming requests, gather needed background, assess urgency, and help route work to the appropriate team members.
  • Coordinate the development of written products by tracking timelines, contributors, reviews, versions, formatting, and next steps to help products move efficiently from development to publication.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for team leadership, including scheduling, meeting logistics, agenda preparation, note taking, action-item tracking, and support for executive briefings and presentations.
  • Coordinate across the enterprise to gather input, align timelines, move work forward, keep stakeholders informed, and support communications, status updates, and meeting materials.
  • Provide support for procurement activities, including tracking requests, coordinating materials, and helping move items through required processes.

Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in project management, public policy, operations, communications, product development, or related work.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, contributors, and moving pieces.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience supporting the development of written products, presentations, briefing materials, or similar deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, tracking action items, maintaining version control, and documenting decisions and next steps.
  • Comfortable supporting senior leaders and working with colleagues across teams and functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and shared document platforms.
  • Public policy experience or familiarity with financial security, retirement, savings, consumer protection, or related issues is helpful.
  • Experience with data visualization, charts, dashboards, or translating data into clear visuals is a plus.
