Position Overview
Seeking a local Azure & Databricks Engineer with 6–8 years of experience to join the platform engineering team in Mount Laurel, NJ. This hands-on position focuses on building small system enhancements, refactoring end-to-end data pipelines, and parsing data models across both traditional relational layers and emerging graph database architectures, alongside implementing intelligent agentic/ML components.
Key Responsibilities
* Data Pipeline Engineering: Architect, enhance, and debug production ETL/ELT orchestration pipelines leveraging Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
* Databricks & PySpark Development: Write high-performance, optimized data transformation code utilizing Python and PySpark clusters within Azure Databricks environments.
* Document Template Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical layout or extraction defects specifically related to corporate Quadient templates and document output processing.
* Graph & Data Layer Integration: Manage data structures across Azure SQL and specialized data stores, incorporating graph definitions using TigerGraph and configuration sets utilizing SALT.
* Platform Diagnostics & Monitoring: Proactively monitor application data pipelines, track cloud run times, and isolate code issues via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics workspaces, and native Databricks execution logs.
* Advanced AI Implementation: Interface with and configure data pipelines that support underlying Machine Learning models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and automated tool-based Agentic workflows.
* Code Quality & Mentorship: Drive high standards of delivery by participating in engineering code reviews and providing structural technical direction to junior development resources.
Required Skillset
* Experience: 6–8 years of professional software engineering and data platform development experience inside enterprise Microsoft cloud environments.
* Core Azure Tech Stack: Proven hands-on development expertise configuring Azure Data Factory (ADF), managing Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), and querying Azure SQL databases.
* Data Engineering Stack: Solid capability writing production ETL logic, advanced SQL queries, native Python code, and distributed PySpark scripts.
* Observability Toolkit: Proficient working with log aggregators, using Azure Monitor, analyzing Log Analytics structures, and inspecting cluster execution footprints.
